My journey to creating Refined Travel has been anything but ordinary, shaped by a lifelong love for exploration and a deep desire to craft meaningful experiences for others.

I grew up in Portugal, surrounded by history and ocean horizons that stirred my sense of curiosity. From a young age, travel wasn’t just a hobby, it was a way of seeing the world with open eyes and an open heart.

Seven years in the UK gave me a deeper appreciation for intentional travel. I wandered through Europe uncovering its hidden corners, always seeking the kind of moments that linger, quiet, authentic, and far from the crowds.

But it was Latin America that truly captivated me. A year of solo travel through the region changed everything. The landscapes, the rhythm, the warmth, it felt like home. So I made it one. Today, I live in Costa Rica, still exploring, still falling in love with this part of the world, and sharing its magic through every journey I design.

With a background in Conservation, nature plays a powerful role in my work. I'm especially drawn to wildlife adventures, like safaris in Africa, where you can witness the raw beauty of the natural world. That sense of awe is something I love to pass on.
